Riteish Deshmukh’s ‘Ved’ in 50 crore club: Marathi film box office record

Bollywood actor Riteish Deshmukh’s directorial debut film ‘Ved’ continues to garner a stupendous response. Riteish Deshmukh is playing the lead role in the film. Now the makers of the film have announced that the film has entered the 50 crore club. The film, which released on 30 December, did a good opening collection.

In the history of Marathi cinema, only one other film has entered the 50 crore club. The 2016 romantic-tragedy Sairat, directed by noted director Nagraj Manjule, was the first 50 crore club film in Marathi.

2.25 cr on Friday, 3.25 cr on Saturday and 4.50 cr on Sunday. Also ‘Ved’ collected Rs 3.02 crore on Monday, Rs 2.65 crore on Tuesday and Rs 2.55 crore on Wednesday. Riteish Deshmukh’s wife and central character in several hits of Indian cinema, Genelia is the heroine of ‘Vedi’.

The cinematography of the film is done by Bhushankumar Jain. Image editing by Chandran Arora. Ved is a romantic comedy film. Genelia D’Cruz is producing the film. Produced under the banner of Mumbai Film Company.

The music of the film is given by Ajay-Atul. Riteish Deshmukh has written the screenplay along with Hrishikesh Thurai and Sandeepa Patil. The film also stars Jia Shankar and Ashok Saraf.
