Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Hira Ben passed away. He was a hundred years old. He died during treatment at a private hospital in Ahmedabad due to age-related ailments.
Hira Ben was recently admitted to the hospital due to health issues. The Prime Minister returned to Ahmedabad. When his mother turned 100 last June, Narendra Modi visited her home in Gandhinagar and performed ‘pada puja’.
Remembering his mother, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that a great century will rest at the feet of God. His remembrance was through a note shared on Twitter. He also included his mother’s picture in the tweet.
The Prime Minister has been vocal on several occasions about his relationship with his mother. On his mother’s 100th birthday, the prime minister wrote on his blog about the difficulties she overcame.
Heeraben was born on June 18, 1922 in Mehsana, Gujarat.
She is married to Damodardas Moolchand, a tea seller. Narendra Modi is the third of the six children of the Damodardas Moolchand Modi-Heeraben couple. Soma Modi is the eldest son. Amrit Modi, Prahlad Modi, Pankaj Modi.
The other child is Vasanthi Ben. She lived in the family home in Vadnagar until her husband’s death. After the death of her husband, she lives in the house of the youngest son Pankaj Modi.
