Actress Samantha broke down in tears during the trailer launch of ‘Shakuntalam’. Samantha got emotional when the film’s director Gunasekhar shared her experience on the sets. Samantha was suffering from myositis and was away from public appearances for several months.
Samantha says that no matter how difficult it gets, her love for cinema will not change. “No matter how many difficulties I face in life, one thing will not change. It is the love of cinema. That’s how much I love cinema. Cinema loves me back.

Directed by Gunasekhar, Samantha plays the title role of Shakuntala in the film based on Kalidasa’s famous play Abhigyana Shakuntalam. Dev Mohan, who shot to fame with the film ‘Sufi Yama Sujata’, will play the role of Dushyantham.
It will be released in five languages Telugu, Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada and Hindi. The film will hit the screens on February 17. Aditi Balan, Mohan Babu, Sachin Khedekar Kabir Bedi, Madhubala, Gautami, Ananya Nagalla and Jisshu Sengupta also star in the film.
