കഴിഞ്ഞ രണ്ടുമൂന്നു വർഷങ്ങളിലായി കേരളത്തിലെ ജനങ്ങൾ നേരിട്ടുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്ന ഒരു വലിയ പ്രശ്നമായി മാറിയിരിക്കുകയാണ് കനത്തമഴയും ന്യൂനമർദ്ദവും കാരണമുണ്ടാകുന്ന വെള്ളപ്പൊക്കവും മണ്ണിടിച്ചിലുമെല്ലാം. ഇത് പലരുടെയും വീടും അവരുടെ സ്വന്തം കൂടപ്പിറപ്പുകൾ നഷ്ടമാവുന്നതിനുപോലും കാരണമായ ഒന്നായിരുന്നു.
