Actor Nandamuri Balakrishna has come under fire for some statements he made about Nagarjuna’s father and Telugu veteran Akkineni Nageswara Rao during the promotion of his new film Veerasimha Reddy. Taluk film legend Akkineni Nageswara Rao was teased as ‘Akineni or Thokineni or something’.

Balakrishna said, ‘My father was some of the contemporaries of Sr NTR, Ranga Rao (referring to SV Ranga Rao), Akkineni or Thokineni etc’. Fans have come forward with criticism against this comment.
Now ANR’s grandson Naga Chaitanya has come with an answer to Balakrishna. ‘The creative contributions of Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Garu, Akkineni Nageswara Rao Garu and SV Ranga Rao Garu are the pride and pillar of Telugu cinema. To disrespect them is to discredit oneself’, he said.
Naga Chaitanya’s brother Akhil Akkineni also shared the same words on social media.
