Kavalan was one of the hit films of Vijay’s career. The film was the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film Bodyguard starring Dileep.
The film starring Asin and Mitra Kurien as heroines was a huge success. It has been 12 years since the Siddiqui directorial hit the theaters on January 15, 2011.
Now there is good news for Vijay’s fans. The news is coming that the film is being re-released. The film will hit the theaters on February 10 and is being released in over 100 centres.
Dileep and Nayanthara were the heroines in Malayalam. The film was also made in Hindi. In the Hindi remake of the film, Salman Khan and Kareena Kapoor will be in the lead roles.
All the three languages were directed by Siddique himself. ‘Bodyguard’ Malayalam was produced by Johny Sagarika and Tamil version ‘Kavalan’ was produced by C Romesh Babu.
Meanwhile, Waris is Vijay’s new film as the protagonist. The film directed by Vamshi Paidipilli has been a huge success and is still running.
Although the film opened to mixed reviews, the film entered the 200 crore club.
